Debate Topic: Robots with artificial intelligence are the future of disaster management. Two teams ‘Oceania vs the World’ will battle two sides of the argument over four rounds.
Sales Pitch Topic: This is what disaster management needs. Three contestants talk on this topic sharing their ideas and point of views. The audience holds all the power by voting for the winners. Winners will receive a prize and bragging rights for the remainder of the Congress.
Purchase your ticket through the registration form to attend and additionally register your interest to participate in the debate or sales pitch. Tickets include one welcome drink, canapés and an interactive gin tasting.

Join us for a classic Aussie BBQ featuring live cooking that showcases traditional Australian music, culture and hospitality. The BBQ will be held the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on the first evening of the Congress.

Sign for a stimulating evening discussing ‘hot topics’ with your colleagues. Hosted by experts in a variety of contemporary topics who will trigger lively discussion at each table of 8-10 people. You will have the opportunity to move tables to participate in other discussions at two points during the evening, after entrée and after main course. This is a great way to network and stimulate thinking while enjoying a meal with colleagues. Tickets for this will be at an additional cost (mentioned above) and can be purchased through the online registration form.

Why not take a night off, relax and get to know your peers at our Wine Tasting Evening? Experience some local Australian wines, participate in a fun wine game and be on the lookout for spot prizes. The Ship Inn constructed in 1864, once a rowdy sailor’s drinking den, has been transformed into a civilised gastropub with a traditional atmosphere in a prime South Bank location. It is approximately 10-15 minutes’ walk from the BCEC along Grey Street.

Departing from BCEC 6:30pm onwards $5 per person
Get lost in the Brewmuda Triangle during this guided tour by local Queenslanders. Departing from the BCEC in small groups you will get the chance to see four local breweries as well as network with your peers. Tickets include guided tour only, delegates will need to have either a Go-Card or appropriate money to purchase a single trip on public transport to the breweries. Additionally delegates may purchase drinks at any of the breweries if they wish.
